contThis project focused in on the Texas State data specifically with the College and Science and Engineering and relating it to the STEM program. STEM is the studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and I was interested to see how much interest there was in the master’s program at Texas State. I used a world map I found from amCharts which was interesting to work as it was something completely new and had to learn from scratch.

I utilized the use of bar charts to really convey and compare the data such as male vs. female enrollment, which is a controversial topic for STEM studies. I also manipulated the DOM with a drop down form where it changes the data with bar charts looking a the topics: Degrees Awarded, Overall Enrollment and International Enrollment.

I also included a motivation video to offer more engagement with STEM and the possibilities of pursuing these fields.

This topic was of particular interest to me as I work in The Graduate College and I see the growth and change of such programs or colleges. I’m not a STEM-minded person myself so it was interesting to see the push in these fields and how our university compares in regards to initiative of the government and education.

My site is condense and like a chunk of information – nothing overpowering, but enough to give a perspective of what’s going on. I think more data and investigation can be done by looking at the International growth in these particular areas and other colleges as well.
