For my final I wanted to discuss the danger that 3 local endemic salamander species are facing. What environmental factors that affect them and their sensitivity to natural events that normally wouldn’t be very harmful. I gathered data from the Austin Data portal which was 30,000 lines of pure raw, unfiltered data. I may have over estimated the viability of the interactive elements of the data, but it did scope out the rareness of finding these creatures in the wild. I scrapped my original layout and chose to go with a different approach to tell their story, but most of my time was spent trying to get specific functions and code to work. For some reason in my initial design everything would break when I put them into different containers. So I threw a hail mary and sacrificed a few elements I wanted to include. Here is my project.
