As we develop each our music application ideas I have enjoyed listening to people talk about their ideas. This has allowed for different perspectives on what can be told through music. My main interest is in the concert experience and listening to others has made me look at different kinds of data that I didn’t see connecting before.
1. Wego is one of the closet apps I found to what I want to accomplish. It gathers all the concerts of both local and nationally known artists that will be in a city near me. Then it also allows me to chat with others that are attending the concert. My big difference is real time rating/reviewing of the show. We can all become music reviewers with this app. This also can create a community for people that enjoy going to shows that want to share the best experience with others.
2. What story are you interested in telling?
The best music concerts.
What topic do you want to investigate? Music concert experience.
Do you have an interesting lead to follow? Twitter and places that sell alcohol.
Best way to tell that story? Maps, writing and pictures (all the pictures)
Who are your users? Music lovers! I want everyone that is at least on social media.
Where are your users? On Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
What questions might they have? Where is the show, is my friend there and is it a dud?
Which do you think are the most important? I think all those questions are worth answering.
How would you know if this story was successful? If it creates a community with continuous reviews.
How are you going to measure that? Focusing on number of reviews and ratings.
What do you need to tell the story that way? People’s interactions, pinpointing bands to locations.
What ape of technology or tools will help you tell this story? Data Layer from Google for mapping and bring in other social media profile information.
Simpler way? Probably
