My final project, Bar Genres, gives people the ability to find their niche in the Austin bar scene.

To look for what genre of bands play at specific bars I ran into trouble. I was unable to pull data from the Austin Chronicle Music Listings with a regular API. Through much frustration and help from friends I was able to create a python that practically did what I was looking for. It was a great experience to figure how python worked and how to utilize it.

While building my website I went from middleman to bootstrap template back to middleman and landed in a place in between. I have a partial scroll home page with links to two other pages.

Once I decided what kind of website set up I wanted I had trouble with creating the quiz. At first it was just figuring out how I wanted to write the quiz. Then it was figuring out how to make it work. You gotta love the roadblocks that help you learn.

In all this class was a challenge that taught me to cope with obstacles and find new perspectives in work. I had a lot of fun exploring the world of coding with everyone. This is not the end of learning.
