Who: journalists

What: data journalism

When: present and future

Where: Earth

Why: “Our Stories Come As Code” (datajournalismhandbook.org)

Data journalism doesn’t strip articles of its narrative, but releases it from its emotional confines. Data journalism can provide a clearer perspective of reality and is at the core of the daily lives of everything, animate and inanimate, on Earth and beyond; it helps shape the way reality is perceived.

The future of data journalism: more information, more accessibility to information, as well as easier to use, share and interpret by all. Data journalism can transcend time and space. It can connect and disconnect, bring peace and discontent — this will be even more true in the future. Ye be warned: journalists are no longer the gatekeepers of information.
