Hi y’all!
For my final project, I used the data from the Texas Music Office’s website to create a site that would focus specifically on Grammy-winning musicians in Texas. I used a really clean Bootstrap template called Business Casual to design the page. To do this project I first found the data and put it all into a Google spreadsheet. Then, I created an interactive chart showing which genre had won the most Grammys. Then, I created a heat map showing the amount of Grammy winners from different areas of Texas. Finally I created a page that lists each Grammy winner and on that page is a form that’ll allow users to choose a Texas city from a dropdown to see which Grammy winning artists are from that city. Initially I wanted to create this using a form that would let the user type in the city, but found it was much easier to do this using a dropdown instead. A screenshot of that page is below.
During my presentation I showed the news app I made about Texas musicians, but Cindy helped me realize that was totally unnecessary.
I spent a lot of time on this project, but still think I could have done much more with the site.
