For my final project, I will be bringing to life my thesis on Korean entertainment and it’s function as a national branding mechanism. The research focuses exclusively on the music industry within South Korea, with occasional acknowledgement towards other areas.
In addition to traditional literature review, I designed a questionnaire and focus group material for data analysis. The questionnaire’s items were examined individually and cross tabulated to find patterns that literature had mentioned. The focus groups, on the other hand, were a little looser in their data, so they were not examined with charts save for demographics. However, there may be some data suitable for charts. The focus group and questionnaire results made up about two-thirds of the “Findings” of the thesis.
Regarding web design, this project will follow a similar layout to my homepage, with a custom color/font palette (one of the influences being the ad “Korean Air: Excellence in Flight”). I plan to be making use of a photo carousel, splash pages and smooth text reveal with jQuery elements.
