I can’t believe it’s already here. I’m very nervous but also excited about the final project. I really hope it comes out awesome.
My final project will be looking at different formats people chose to purchase music on. For the digital side, I’m going to look into things like iTunes purchases and streaming from Spotify, but I’m also going to look into digital Amazon sales if I can and any other sites that I can find. I’ve already found some sites with iTunes data and we’ve worked with the Spotify api so I will most likely be using those.
For the physical side, I want to find CD and Vinyl sales. Vinyl has made a comeback and I’d like to see how it stacks up against CD and digital sales. I really would like to interview some one from Superfly music in San Marcos and Hastings since they sale both CD’s and vinyl and have a pretty big selection. I’ll also interview some regular people who I know buy and download a lot of music. I plan on making a survey to post on Facebook and Twitter to see what people are buying or using as well.
Thing I’m going to include on my site will be:
- A form that lets the user select a format of music and see some kind of chart that shows data about the selected format.
- A map of localized music sales.
- Videos of interviews.
- Pictures
- Nice Bootstrap elements
I’m still thinking this out so I can draw it up, but I’m hoping it comes out really well.
