For this project I wanted to see the concentration and locations of Tweets that were discussing the superhero Daredevil. Recently, Marvel has released a television adaptation of Daredevil on the streaming service known as Netflix. The show, which has been met with critical acclaim Netflix subscribers, has to be one on the most discussed and trending topic currently on Twitter. Using the Twitter API, I have recorded a selection of Tweets that have mentioned the word “Daredevil.”
The first map, the Twitter Map Marker, identified individual tweets that mentioned Daredevil. As you can see the, the majority of the tweets were made on the North American continent, specifically the United States. Since Daredevil is both an American comic book character and the new Netflix series is an English-language/American program taking place in New York City, it make sense that so many tweets about both were coming from the United States.
The Circle Map shows the concentration of tweets about Daredevil in the United States. The biggest concentration was in Northeast, but there were smaller pockets in Texas and Washington.
