Texas boasts a mighty long list of what it’s Texas Music Office calls “Texas Music Pioneers.” People from my favorite emo-extraordinaire Elliott Smith and the metaphorical fascist killing Woody Guthrie, to the woman who put the power in flower power, Janis Joplin.
My graph is nowhere near complete; I’d like to include audio somewhere, either as buttons below the graph or in the actual bars, of the most popular artists (or at least who I think are the most popular) in the cities listed.
So, here’s to you Texas, the state that I call home:
