The Rising Cost of Venues

I’d like to do my final website on the rising cost of venues. It’s come up multiple times as an issue that’s causing significant strain in the Austin music community, and documenting it could go a long way to raise awareness. My idea so far on the layout of the app would be to use a google map or something similar to document the closure of various major venues across the city, then at the same time have a slider that allows the user to go back and forth across a variety of years to see just how rent expenses in venues have changed. If it’s possible, I might also create a frame of reference by showcasing either other rent prices, or inflation on other things in Austin.
