After reading the chapter, I realize that the actual data is what makes a story..worthy. We’ve seen it all – pie graphs, bar graphs, timeline graphs, line graphs, etc, etc. Sure, the presentation of the actual data might not be the story, but if you have amazing data, why not come up with an innovative way to present that data? As a journalist, if you’ve gone as far as taking the initiative to collect valuable data, why not go the extra mile and come up with a new way to present this data. There’s generic tools like Microsoft’s Excel that get the point across to the reader/ consumer but why not use this form of presentation to intrigue not only your target readers but everyone with an innovative mind set.

This brings me to the way I’ll present my data in my final project. For the past two months, I have been working on an advertising campaign with Snapple and found a creative way to make a print/video ad innovative. I’ve developed a method to make anything and anyone into a hologram using plexiglass and any size monitor.

Here is a concept video of what I am talking about :

My plan is to gather the data using the methods we are currently learning in class, make an after effects interactive graph(s) and throw it into a video editor and make interactive, animated, HOLOGRAM graphs.
