I believe data journalism is story telling at its finest. It’s the intersection of solid facts, stunning images and a strong voice. Instead of talking at our readers, we can talk with them. We’ve found a way to add the idea of conservation in its purest form to journalism.
Finding and analyzing data intimidates many people. Some of them even go so far as to tune out of conversations around data, believing they won’t understand all the jargon. Journalism brings the data out of the clouds so that everyone can benefit from knowing what it has to offer. Maybe then, once more people understand how beneficial data is, they’ll be interested in collecting even basis statistics. Ultimately, our goal of bringing the world together with technology will happen that much faster.
