Hi, I’m Elizabeth Sanders, but most people call me Beth. I am a senior, and my major is journalism with a minor in English. After I graduate, I would like to work for a magazine or go to law school or both! I live in Austin, but I’m originally from Dime Box, TX. I like to write. I write fiction, poetry, news stories, essays, just about anything! I also am a big film buff. I hope to one day write stories for film. I like doing research and also following politics. I consider myself somewhat of a foodie. My son, Darin, is seven. I spend a lot of time mommying. I have no pets, but I do have an army of plants! Nice to meet everyone!
Some of my ideas for how we should cover the music scene in Austin include possibly checking into how the artists distribute their music and what they find most effective. Another idea would be would be checking which venues promote the artists the best (perhaps through social media ect.). We could also check revenue for artists to see how much they make profit on performing (if they make profit at all). We could also check on profits obtained by the venues while they have live music v. when shows are not happening. Also, how many bands get record deal/achieve fame from our local scene (likelihood of “taking off” after originating in the Austin scene). That’s all I have for now! Super excited to hear everyone’s ideas!
