I thought it would be fun for the project to do some kind of analysis of venues in Austin. Perhaps I can see how many venues there are total that host live shows and then break them down into categories like genres or economic impact. I’m not sure how hard it would be to collect this data, which I think would be the only setback. I would probably have to choose a particular area like only 6th street or the downtown area. Perhaps I could get a lot of information off of the websites and social media of the different venues. Also, with this topic I think it would be easy to add multimedia to the page like original videos and photos. Maybe I could go to a couple shows and even do some interviews. I think the best data visualizations are ones that are accompanied with stories.
