The chart I made was to show how the sale of albums in the U.S. has been dropping for quite some time now.
I was able to find data on physical album sales from 2008-2012 in the United States, and to my surprise, Rock was the best selling of them all.
Since albums were made available to stream/download, it has made a dent in hard copy sales. I found this to be interesting because it’s weird to see so many new, local and seasoned artists still use hard copies of their work. There has been new trends when it comes to listening to mix-tapes, albums and singles, and it’s with the web.
Companies like Spotify and Pandora have really changed the game.
